Our Founder
Angela D. Ellington is a pioneering cosmetic research and innovation strategist, redefining beauty through the lens of science, emotional well-being, and inclusion. As the founder of D&E Industries Inc., she leverages decades of scientific expertise to help beauty companies translate research into real-world innovation—while honoring the diverse needs of today’s consumers.
Angela’s work bridges the gap between technical formulation and consumer connection, with a core belief that beauty is both felt and seen. She centers mental wellness as a driving force in product innovation, brand strategy, and claims development—advocating for product experiences that support confidence, self-expression, and emotional empowerment.
Through confidential, strategic partnerships with emerging and established brands—ranging from multicultural startups to multinational corporations—Angela has helped guide product ideation, testing strategy, and inclusive product development across hair, scalp, and skin categories. Her engagements are covered by strict NDAs, underscoring her commitment to client trust and intellectual discretion.
Beyond her scientific leadership, Angela is a champion for equity and education in the beauty ecosystem. She mentors young women in STEM, particularly those from historically underrepresented communities who are exploring careers in cosmetic science. Her commitment to mentorship and education has led to speaking engagements at institutions such as Spelman College, University of Toledo, Georgia State University, and the University of Chicago Medical School, where she presented on the psychosocial impacts of alopecia at a medical symposium.
Angela also serves on advisory boards supporting the advancement of inclusion and innovation within the beauty and wellness industries, helping shape the future of beauty through collaboration, compassion, and research-led impact.
